چکیده
Banded leaf and sheath blight (BLSB) of maize (Zea mays L.) caused by Rhizoctonia solani f. sp. sasakii is one the most important yield-limiting factors faced growers in India. Therefore, attempts were made to identify promising suitable bioagents for management BLSB maize. Present study was carried out check efficacy two bioformulations, viz. Pusa Th3 (Trichoderma harzianum) Cg2 (Chaetomium globosum) against Vivek QPM-9 cultivar under field conditions during kharif 2018 2019 using seven different treatments. All treatments significantly reduced disease incidence contributed higher yield as compared positive control. The lowest per cent index (37.87 53.17%) recorded case both seedtreatment foliar spray with T. harzianum. It gave 40.39% control also increased up 28.47% over unprotected plot. concluded that can be managed seed treatment harzianum @2 g/kg seed, followed @0.1% at 30 days after sowing. Sustainable ecofriendly options identified help not only safeguarding crop but increase cost: benefit ratio. In addition, results indicated bio formulation used substitute chemical fungicides especially controlling

Analysis of Digenic Epistatic and QTL × Environment Interactions for Resistance to Banded Leaf and Sheath Blight in Maize (Zea mays)
Maize banded leaf and sheath blight (BLSB) due to Rhizoctonia solani Kühn, is an increasing problem in maize production areas, particularly in China and Southeast of Asian. A genetic map containing 146 simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers and 229 F2 plants derived from the cross R 15 (resistant) × Ye 478 (susceptible) were used in this study. QTL were characterized in a population of 229 F2:4 l...
متن کاملBANDED LEAF AND SHEATH BLIGHT OF MAIZE INCITED BY Rhizoctonia solanif.spsasakii AND ITS MANAGEMENT. A REVIEW
Globally maize (Zea mays L.) is the first and most important cereal crop grown under diverse environments unmatched by any other crop, as expansion of maize to new areas and environment still continues due to its range of plasticity.Maize has a wide adaptability to diverse agro-climatic conditions around the world. Maize was introduced to India in the beginning of 17 century. It is now one of t...

Maize (Zea mays L.; 2N=20) is major staple food crop grown worldwide adapted to several biotic and abiotic stresses. Maydis leaf blight (MLB) and banded leaf and sheath blight (BLSB) are serious foliar fungal diseases may cause up to 40% and 100% grain yield loss, respectively. The present studies were undertaken to work out the efficacy of chemicals, botanicals and bioagents for the management...

Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated transformation is an effective method for introducing genes into maize. In this chapter, we describe a detailed protocol for genetic transformation of the maize genotype Hi II. Our starting plant material is immature embryos cocultivated with an Agrobacterium strain carrying a standard binary vector. In addition to step-by-step laboratory transformation proced...
متن کاملNon-destructive leaf area measurement in maize (Zea mays L.).
In this research, leaf area prediction model was developed for some leaf-used maize (Zea mays L.) cultivars namely Coluna, Luce, Maveric, Ranchero, TTM-813, Zamora and RX-788 grown in Black Sea region of Turkey. Lamina width, length and leaf area were measured without destroying the leaf to develop the models. The actual leaf areas of the plants were measured by PLACOM Digital Planimeter and mu...
